Fordham Hill

At nearly 6,000 acres, the areas surrounding Fordham Hill contain more green space than any other urban area in the country.

Van Cortlandt Park

Covers nearly two square miles and has boating, horseback riding, cricket, golf, picnicking, and tennis. The oldest public golf course in America, Van Cortlandt Golf Club, celebrated its centennial in 1995 and features excellent greens, tight fairways, challenging water hazards, and a lakeside clubhouse.

The New York Botanical Garden

Palisades

Take a drive through Kingsbridge Heights, or along the mighty Hudson River where the dramatic Palisades (cliffs on the west bank of the Hudson River) provide the backdrop to the neighborhood of Riverdale, a hilly enclave of estates.

The Met Cloisters

Plan a visit to The Met Cloisters located in Fort Tryon, overlooking the Hudson River in northern Manhattan. A trip into this museum of medieval art will temporarily send you back to the Middle Ages.

Wave Hill

Explore Wave Hill, an acclaimed public garden and cultural institution in a spectacular setting where an 1843 mansion that was once home to Mark Twain, Theodore Roosevelt, and Arturo Toscanini is yours to enjoy.
